Magomitsu-bessaku

Pleasure to get a real one

刀匠×野鍛冶

A special collaboration has been launched here; It’s brought by the swordsmith who has been seeking the beauty and the functionality of Japanese sword and the blacksmith of tools who gives importance to its practicality.

An ultimate outdoor knife “Magomitsu-bessaku”, born from Nittoho-Tatara and Watetsu of Noto. The materials are; Tamahagane for steel, which is the best quality Watetsu and essential for making Japanese swords, and Noto-Watetsu existing for more than 150 years for base metal, which contains less impurities and is resistant to rust. The steel and the iron are combined well by a traditional forging way, Wakashi-tsuke, which both surfaces are attached firmly, heated, and the pressure is applied to them. The combination of the hardness brought by Tamahagane and the flexibility brought by Watetsu can realize the sharpness and easiness of sharpening. A Japanese sword is an art at the present day.

“Magomitsu-bessaku” is a Noto-Makiri using the same materials with Japanese swords. You can enjoy a Japanese technique and a Japanese legend practically with your hand. A very special experience for you.
